Treatment blog @ BODYWORKS AZABU

In my blog posts I explain various symptoms
and proposed treatments

【Introducing "pelvic adjustment": Improve the torsion of the trunk and distortion of the pelvis to balance the entire body】

I would like to introduce the treatment of a patient whom I mentioned in my previous blog post regarding "Facial Acupuncture".

The patient's major complains were:

・Pelvis is misaligned and feels discomfort

・Pain in the sacroiliac joint at the back of the pelvis (especially worse when tired)

・Tension and pain in left thigh

This patient previously played soccer intensively and had a history of rupturing his left anterior cruciate ligament.

Typical symptoms of ligament rupture is the feeling of instability, and also feeling loose and cannot put pressure with sudden movements.

STEP 1: Through pelvic adjustment, we carefully approach the sacroiliac joints

Have the patient lie on their back and place my hands on their back to check the stiffness and movement of the sacroiliac joints.

Through manipulative treatments such as muscle massage and stretching, we gradually increase movement and adjust the pelvis.

STEP 2: Care for other affected area

Along with the sacroiliac joint malfunction, other parts of the body were also found to be malfunctioning.

Stiffness in the groin area can be relieved with gentle acupressure and lymphatic massage, allowing hip joint movement to become smoother.

In the knee joint, the popliteus muscle (the depression at the back of the knee) tends to become stiff. This area is also loosened with massage and acupressure to relieve tension, as well as the tightness in the Achilles tendon has been relieved.

STEP 3: Relax your body from deep within with electroacupuncture

Acupuncture needles are placed on the back, back of the thighs, knees, etc., and acupuncture electrode low-frequency therapy (using a device that stimulates deep muscles with low-frequency pulsed current by connecting to the needles) is performed.

As a former athlete, he still has a considerable amount of muscle mass that he built during his career. Electroacupuncture can reach deep into those thick muscles, stimulating, warming, and relaxing the muscles.

What BODYWORKS AZABU can do for athletes

We use manipulative therapy to address and maintain the physical ailments specific to athletes, and by combining this with acupuncture and myofascial release therapy, we can help to further improve your physical recovery.
